Liberty Online “2-bar design”
The 2 bars represent an idea, which we’re doing with the Liberty Online Shop label. 50% of the money we make is for our us, 50% is to increase our liberty by increasing liberty in general by paying those who work for and defend it. It’s not charity, it’s something different; a different approach to personal economics and quality of life with a different philosophy behind it. We are supporting with money those whose work benefits us. Imagine if more people or companies took on this way of life though? (Of course, this shouldn’t even be considered by people until after they have their basic living needs met, but for surplus above that level.)
This generation, we’re having a serious crisis with privacy, speech, thought, publication, even though we live in what was considered to be a country of absolutely free speech and thought. If we can’t speak freely, we start to self-limit our own thoughts. This is the goal of those who censor: that people will take on the role of self-censorship in response to the smaller inital efforts of coercive censors. Trust in society decreases because we are vulnerable without the guarantee of real protection when we speak, so truth declines also, decreasing thereby our access to modern true information because there is no one left willing to express it.
Anyone wearing these two bars expresses this idea of 50% and an effort to increase liberty. It’s not for anyone to live 100%, but just to put the idea out there for people to consider and add to their ways of approaching society. You can draw the two bars on your own shirt. Anyone who buys one from us, though, with our little black and white historic “L” logo on the shirt, is directly supporting liberty online because we will be donating 50% of any and all profits to those who work for and defend liberty online. It’s not wrong to make an effort and try.
